On Thursday, January 29, a Pitt County woman was arrested following an investigation into multiple stolen vehicles that occurred in Lenoir County.
The Kinston Police Department reported multiple arrests over several days following a drug investigation and separate violent and property crime incidents. On Jan. 30, officers concluded a three-month investigation into cocaine distribution, resulting in the arrests of two men and the seizure of drugs, firearms and cash at two locations. That same day, police arrested a 23-year-old woman in connection with a stabbing reported in the Mitchell Wooten area. On Feb. 1, officers also arrested a former Little Caesars employee accused of breaking into the business on two occasions and selling pizzas for personal profit.
On January 29, 2026, at approximately 6:43 p.m., members of the Kinston Police Department’s Violent Crime Action Team (VCAT) conducted an investigation into suspected criminal activity following concerns reported by community members.
On January 26, 2026, at approximately 9:51 a.m., Kinston Police Department A-Squad responded to the 600 block of Airport Road in reference to a motor vehicle collision.
On January 22, 2026, at approximately 8:09 a.m., officers with the Kinston Police Department’s A-Squad were requested to assist the Kinston Fire Department with a vehicle fire in the parking lot of Carver Courts.
On January 20, 2026, at approximately 11:20 p.m., officers with the Kinston Police Department’s D-Squad checked out with a suspicious vehicle in the area of Plaza Boulevard.
The the Internal Revenue Service contacted Kinston Police Department actively investigating a large-scale gold-based fraud scheme in which a Kinston resident was victimized.
In November 2024, officers with the Kinston Police Department responded to Signature Healthcare in reference to a reported fraud. A preliminary investigation determined that a certified nursing assistant (CNA), identified as 45-year-old Hildares Parker-Greene, unlawfully obtained debit card information belonging to a patient and used the information to make unauthorized purchases.
On January 13, 2026, narcotics detectives with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office, in cooperation with the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement (NC ALE), arrested a 32-year-old Lenoir County male and a 34-year-old Lenoir County female at the Star Mini Mart located on Poole Road.
Shaniqua Reed, 37, of Magnolia, and LaDarius Hines, 26, of Kinston, each appeared in Lenoir County Superior Court today, where they pleaded guilty to one felony count of Providing Contraband to Inmates.
At approximately 6:15 this morning the Jones County Sheriff's Office responded to Hardee's in Maysville, NC for an attempted robbery and assault.
