Man Arrested During Disturbance and Assault on Officer

On January 4, 2026, officers with the Kinston Police Department’s C-Squad responded to a disturbance in the 100 block of N. Trianon Street.

Officers made contact with the caller, who reported that 50-year-old James Holman was refusing to administer her prescribed insulin. During the investigation, Holman verbally threatened to kill the caller if she contacted 911 again.

Officers immediately attempted to place Holman under arrest. Holman then assumed a fighting stance, refused lawful commands, and actively resisted officers. During the struggle, Holman bit an officer before being taken into custody.

Holman was transported to the Lenoir County Jail, where he was charged with the following offenses:

- Communicating Threats

- Resisting Arrest

- Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer

Holman remains in the custody of the Lenoir County Jail.
