A memorial service for Pat Adams will be held at Calvary Memorial UMC in Snow Hill on Saturday, September 13 at 1:30pm. The family requests that you wear bright colors or a special hat, just as Pat would have wanted.
Kinston-Valarie Creech Potter, 39, died August 9, 2025. Val was born October 17, 1985 in Lenoir County. A memorial service to remember and honor Val’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Rouse Funeral Home. The family will receive friends in the hour prior to the service.
Dorothy Faye “Dot” Carroll, a proud Navy wife, sharp-minded businesswoman, and devoted matriarch, passed away on September 3, 2025, at the age of 97. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Monday, September 8, at 11:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (400 Academy Heights Rd, Kinston, NC 28504.
Bobby Brinson, age 82, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life will be held 11 AM Saturday, September 6th, at the Chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with Pastor Blake Dameron officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Ola Faye Sullivan, 94, of Kinston was graciously welcomed into the presence of the Lord and reunited with her husband, C.D., on Monday, September 1, 2025. A service of remembrance will be held at Rouse Funeral Home in La Grange on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., with visitation immediately following. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Selma Memorial Gardens in Selma, North Carolina.

Don Griffin Phillips, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on August 28th, 2025 at his home in Trenton, NC. A memorial service celebrating Don’s life will be held on September 2nd, 2025 at 6pm, at Edwards Funeral Home located on 702 Queen Street in Kinston, NC. Visitation with the family will begin at 5pm prior to the memorial service. A private burial will be held at a later date.
Margaret Lucile Davis, age 90, of Kinston, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family. Visitation will be held at Edwards Funeral Home on Thursday, August 28, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Brian Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston.
