Lenoir County Sex Offender Arrested for Registration Violations

On Saturday, January 3rd, a registered sex offender was arrested in New Hanover County for failing to report a change of address, as required by law.

Payton Collins, 25, of Lenoir County, was taken into custody by the Kure Beach Police Department following an investigation conducted by the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office General Investigations Division, that began in October 2025.

Collins was charged with failure to notify of address change and is being held in New Hanover County Jail under a $3,000 secured bond.
