Woman charged after trespassing complaint on East Washington Avenue

On January 9, 2026, officers with the Kinston Police Department’s B-Squad responded to a residence in the 800 block of East Washington Avenue in reference to a trespassing complaint.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with Shavonda Connor, who had previously been banned from the property. Connor was taken into custody for trespassing. During a search incident to arrest, officers located a handgun and brass knuckles.

As a result, Connor was additionally charged with Carrying a Concealed Gun and Carrying a Concealed Weapon. She was transported to the Lenoir County Jail, where she is currently being held under a secured bond.
