KPD Arrests Kinston Woman for DWI Following Crash on Airport Road

On January 26, 2026, at approximately 9:51 a.m., Kinston Police Department A-Squad responded to the 600 block of Airport Road in reference to a motor vehicle collision.

Upon arrival, officers made contact with 42-year-old Shantell Murrell, who displayed signs of impairment. Officers conducted both a traffic crash investigation and a DWI investigation. As a result of the investigation, Murrell was determined to be impaired.

Murrell was subsequently arrested and charged with Driving While Impaired (DWI) and transported to the Lenoir County Jail, where she was placed under a secured bond.
