On March 17, 2026, Detectives with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit, in coordination with the Kinston Police Department VCAT Unit, were conducting proactive patrols in the area of Grifton Hugo Road. During patrol, detectives observed a white Ford Focus operating with a non-functioning driver-side headlight and initiated a traffic stop.
On January 20, 2026, at approximately 11:20 p.m., officers with the Kinston Police Department’s D-Squad checked out with a suspicious vehicle in the area of Plaza Boulevard.

On Wednesday 12/04/2024 the Greene County Sheriff's Office along with NC ALE Agents served a search warrant at a residence on Second St in Hookerton, arresting two individuals, 33 year old Jessica Roxanne Bridgers and 28 year old Jonathan Davaugn Dunn.
On September 3, 2024, Officers on D-Squad were patrolling the area of Jack Rountree Apartments. During this time, officers observed a vehicle parked with the door open. Officers approached the vehicle and made contact with Charles Cox (31 of Deep Run, NC) sitting in the back seat.
On Tuesday, Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office received a narcotics complaint from the public. Sheriff Jackie Rogers led an investigation — along with the Street Crimes and Rapid Response (SCARR) team and deputies from B Shift — at 3719 N.C. 58 South in Kinston. The investigation ended in the arrest of five individuals with numerous charges.
KPD's D-Squad conducted a traffic stop on the 3000 block of W Vernon Avenue with Jesse Jones (33 of Grifton). During the traffic stop, K9 Kang was called to the scene to conduct a sniff of the vehicle. Kang gave his handler indication that narcotics were in vehicle

The Greene County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit arrested 45-year-old, Qusim Haneffe Maine Sr. of the Jason area, Tuesday afternoon, for the sell of heroin and meth.
As a result of the investigation, along with the execution of the search warrants, a total of six firearms, more than 500 grams of cocaine, approximately 19 grams of fentanyl, Schedule VI-controlled substance and multiple items of drug paraphernalia were seized.
