Deep Run man arrested for drug violations
On June 27, 2026, at approximately 8:37 p.m., the Kinston Police Department's Violent Crime Action Team conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of East Blount Street.
Officers made contact with the driver, 27-year-old Jameson King of Deep Run. During the traffic stop, detectives observed narcotics-related violations. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of cocaine and dextroamphetamine-amphetamine pills. The pills had been prescribed to another individual who was not inside the vehicle.
King was arrested and transported to the Lenoir County Jail, where he was charged with:
- Felony Possession of Cocaine
- Felony Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance
- Felony Maintaining a Vehicle
