Kinston police report fentanyl, firearm and larceny arrests in weekend recap

𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊𝐄𝐍𝐃 𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐀𝐏

𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

𝟔:𝟑𝟐 𝐀𝐌 – D-Squad officers responded to the 2100 block of Rouse Road at the request of EMS. Officers arrived and were advised that 47-year-old Antoine Davis of Greenville had a firearm.

Once the scene was secured, Davis was treated by EMS. During the investigation, officers observed that the firearm had an altered serial number. Davis was taken into custody and charged with:

- Alter/Remove Gun Serial Number

- Possession of a Firearm by Felon

𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟐, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

𝟏𝟎:𝟐𝟑 𝐀𝐌 – KPD’s VCAT concluded an investigation into the distribution of fentanyl. VCAT, KPD’s Investigations Division, Crime Lab, and D-Squad conducted two traffic stops and executed three search warrants at residences on the 1700 block of Hardee Road, the 2000 block of Rouse Road, and a storage unit on the 2000 block of W. Vernon Avenue.

The searches resulted in the seizure of more than five pounds of marijuana and more than four ounces of fentanyl. The following arrest were a result of the investigation.

Marquis Johnson, 29, of Washington, D.C.

- PWISD Marijuana (3 Counts)

- Felony Possession of Marijuana (3 Counts)

- Felony Maintaining a Vehicle

- Felony Conspiracy (6 Counts)

Tyquan Johnson, 25, of Kinston

- Trafficking Fentanyl by Possession

- PWISD Fentanyl

- PWISD Marijuana (2 Counts)

- Felony Possession of Marijuana (2 Counts)

- Felony Maintaining a Dwelling

- Felony Conspiracy (6 Counts)

𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

𝟏𝟐:𝟎𝟖 𝐀𝐌 – B-Squad officers conducted a traffic stop on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard involving 32-year-old Demarcus Bizzell of Kenansville. The traffic stop led to a probable cause search of the vehicle. Officers located more than 51 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia consistent with the packaging and distribution of narcotics.

Bizzell was arrested and placed in the Lenoir County Jail for:

- Felony PWISD Marijuana

- Felony Possession of Marijuana

- Felony Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substances

- Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia

𝟓:𝟐𝟏 𝐏𝐌 – B-Squad officers responded to a reported larceny from Circle K on the 500 block of E. New Bern Road. The suspect reportedly concealed more than $700 worth of candy and left the store.

Officers located 60-year-old Ander Croom and took him into custody. Croom was placed in the Lenoir County Jail for:

- Habitual Larceny

- Felony Conspiracy

- Obtaining Property by False Pretenses

𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟒, 𝟐𝟎𝟐

𝟏:𝟒𝟖 𝐀𝐌 – B-Squad officers conducted a traffic stop on the 200 block of W. New Bern Road. During the stop, K9 Loki conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle and gave a positive indication.

A subsequent search located cocaine and other items consistent with the manufacturing of narcotics. 35-year-old Kaitlyn Warren of Ayden was arrested and placed in the Lenoir County Jail for:

- PWISD Cocaine

- Manufacture Cocaine

- Maintaining a Vehicle

- Drug Paraphernalia
