Three Arrested in Kinston Fentanyl Investigation

On April 21, 2026, members of the Kinston Police Department’s Violent Crime Action Team (VCAT) observed a vehicle involved in a suspected drug transaction in the 200 block of East Grainger Avenue.

Detectives conducted an investigative stop on the vehicle. During the stop, a passenger, identified as 25-year-old Kaches Cuttino Jr., fled on foot. He was quickly apprehended and taken into custody. A search incident to arrest revealed that Cuttino Jr. was in possession of fentanyl.

As a result of the investigation, detectives obtained a search warrant for a residence on the 200 block of East Grainger Avenue connected to the drug activity. During the execution of the search warrant, officers located 52-year-old Kaches Cuttino Sr. and 18-year-old Naim Cuttino inside the residence.

The search of the residence resulted in the seizure of approximately 62 grams of fentanyl, 7 grams of methamphetamine, 97 grams of marijuana, 24 oxycodone pills, drug paraphernalia, and two handguns.

Based on the investigation and evidence recovered, the following individuals were charged:

- Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver (PWISD) Fentanyl

- PWISD Methamphetamine

- PWISD Marijuana

- PWISD Oxycodone

- Felony Possession of Marijuana

- Felony Maintaining a Dwelling

- Possession of a Firearm by Felon

- Resist, Obstruct, Delay

- Possession of Fentanyl

- Parole/Probation Violation

- Three Outstanding Warrants for Arrest

Kaches Cuttino Sr., 52

- Trafficking Fentanyl

- PWISD Fentanyl

- PWISD Methamphetamine

- PWISD Marijuana

- PWISD Oxycodone

- Felony Possession of Marijuana

- Felony Maintaining a Dwelling

- Possession of a Firearm by Felon
