Anonymous Drug Complaint Leads to Arrest of Lenoir County Man
On June 24, 2026, the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit, assisted by the Street Crimes and Rapid Response (S.C.A.R.R.) Unit, Crash Reduction Team (C.R.T.), and D-Shift Patrol Deputies, responded to an anonymous drug complaint at the residence of 49-year-old Joe Ray Lee Jr.
Upon arrival, investigators developed probable cause that illegal narcotics were present at the residence. A search warrant was obtained and subsequently executed.
During the search, deputies seized marijuana packaged for sale, drug paraphernalia, a firearm, and a large quantity of U.S. currency believed to be associated with illegal drug activity.
Joe Ray Lee Jr. was arrested and charged with the following offenses:
Possession of a Firearm by a Felon
Possession with Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana
Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling/Place for Controlled Substances
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Lee was transported to the Lenoir County Jail, where he was held without bond pending his first court appearance.
