Description

Performs professional work involved in the design, construction, inspection and maintenance of a variety of public works and utility facilities, and related work as required. Work is performed under the moderate supervision of the Engineering Project Manager. Limited supervision may be exercised over temporary employees.

Duties include:

Overseeing and participating in the design of streets, utilities, stormwater and other City facilities.

Developing project manuals and plans for projects designed in-house.

Receiving and responding to engineering questions and problems presented by the general public.

Responding to questions from and providing information to regulators.

Providing engineering solutions to questions presented by associates and elected officials.

Administering special project budgets.

Administering the City’s stormwater program and developing annual stormwater reports.

Overseeing and participating in construction inspection activities performed by outside contractors.

Acting as project manager on various projects.

Administering and/or supervising the administration of contracts for the City.

Producing engineering and/or architectural plans using AutoCAD.

Developing and reviewing engineering and compliance reports.

Performing related tasks as required.
