Kinston -- Carolyn Ann Cooper Roberts of Kinston, NC, passed away on September 26, 2025, at ECU Health facility in Greenville, NC. A faithful member of Faith Fellowship Church in Kinston, NC, Carolyn’s celebration of life will be held there on October 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., with friends gathering afterward in the fellowship hall. Burial will be private.
Rev. Gerald Keith Stacy, 76, was called home to Heaven on October 3, 2025. A service of love and remembrance will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at La Grange Christian Church, with Rev. Ronnie V. Hobgood officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Pounding Mill, Virginia.
Our dad, Joseph “Joe” George Plasky, a loving father, inventive engineer, and beloved "Muffin Man," passed away on September 29th at the age of 88. The family will receive friends for a time of Visitation and a Rosary service on Thursday, October 9th, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Kinston (400 Academy Heights Rd).
The Visitation begins at 5:00 p.m., followed by the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held several weeks later on Friday, November 14th, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Catholic Church in New Bern (3005 Country Club Rd).
William Jason “Simon” Wood Jr., 66, departed this life on Monday, September 29, 2025. A service of love and remembrance will be held at Rouse Funeral Home on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends in the hour prior to service. Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
Jessica Rose Jones Dunn, 68 of Kinston, was called to her heavenly home and reunited with her beloved husband Donnie on September 27, 2025. A Memorial service will be held at 7p.m., Thursday October 2nd, 2025, at Wheat Swamp Christian Church with Pastor Allen Ham and Hank Jarman officiating. Visitation will follow the service and at other times at the home of Clay and Brittany Dunn, 2553 Stratford Drive, La Grange.
Louise Hughes Hodges of Dover, North Carolina left her earthly home on September 24, 2025. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all her caregivers in the last few months from Bayada Home Health, especially Azaria Jenkins and in the final weeks Pruitt Health Palliative and Hospice Care.
Stephen Michael “Mike” Anderson, 53, of Trenton, met his Lord and Savior suddenly on September 21, 2025, while on duty in Chesapeake, VA.
Charles G. Radford, 71, passed away suddenly in the early morning hours of September 19, 2025, at home with his beloved wife by his side. A graveside service to honor and remember Charles’s life will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Pinelawn Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation on Thursday, September 25, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home.
Ginger J. Taylor, beloved mother, grandmother, nurse, and woman of steadfast faith, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2025, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, NC, after a courageous eight-year battle with cancer. She was 77. A Celebration of Life will be held at Faith Fellowship in Kinston, North Carolina, on Saturday, September 27, 2025. Visitation with the family begins at 1:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
On Wednesday, September 17, 2025, Hazel Moore Loftin, 92, of Kinston, NC transitioned to the arms of her waiting husband, Garland A. Loftin, in Heaven. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, September 26 at 11 am at Shady Grove Church. Burial will be private.
LaGrange – Lillian Ruth Center, 78, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, September 20, at 4pm at Trinity FWB Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Needham Herring, 80, passed away on September 11, 2025, at his home. A service of love and remembrance will be held at La Grange Christian Church at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery, La Grange.
James Percy (J.P.) Cauley, Jr., age 90, of Kinston, N.C., passed away September 12, 2025, at his home on Stonington Farm, near Kinston. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Spilman Memorial Baptist Church in Kinston at 12 Noon with the Rev. Dr. H. Powell Dew, Jr., pastor, officiating. Visitation will be before the service, beginning at 11:00 A.M.
Patricia Lee Adams, a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2025, at the age of 75. A memorial service for Pat Adams will be held at Calvary Memorial UMC in Snow Hill on Saturday, September 13 at 1:30pm. The family requests that you wear bright colors or a special hat, just as Pat would have wanted.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11 AM Saturday, September 6th, at the Chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with Pastor Blake Dameron officiating. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Selma Memorial Gardens in Selma, North Carolina.

Don Griffin Phillips, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 on August 28th, 2025 at his home in Trenton, NC. A memorial service celebrating Don’s life will be held on September 2nd, 2025 at 6pm, at Edwards Funeral Home located on 702 Queen Street in Kinston, NC. Visitation with the family will begin at 5pm prior to the memorial service. A private burial will be held at a later date.
