Ola Faye Sullivan

September 23, 1930 – September 1, 2025

Ola Faye Sullivan, 94, of Kinston was graciously welcomed into the presence of the Lord and reunited with her husband, C.D., on Monday, September 1, 2025. Born in Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Major Daniel and Ola Mae Williams.

A devoted member of Spilman Memorial Baptist Church, Faye served faithfully for many years, especially through her love of singing in the choir. As the church’s oldest member, she was honored in 2024 with the Legacy Award in recognition of her lifelong dedication and service.

Faye retired from First Citizens Bank after many years of service. She loved her work and the friendships she formed with customers, many of whom became dear friends. A passionate sports fan, she never missed a game that involved a ball, especially if her children were participating. For many years on most summer evenings, she could be found at Grainger Stadium supporting the local minor league baseball team.

In retirement, Faye gave her time generously as a volunteer at Lenoir Memorial Hospital, where she was honored with a service pin for completing over 4,000 volunteer hours.

A service of remembrance will be held at Rouse Funeral Home in La Grange on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 6:00 p.m., with visitation immediately following. A graveside service will take place on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Selma Memorial Gardens in Selma, North Carolina.

Faye was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 69 years, Charles Douglas (C.D.) Sullivan; her daughter, Patricia Faye; and her son, Charles Clifton (Cliff). Her sister, Nelle Adams, passed away one day later, on September 2, 2025.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Jongleux and husband, Bob, of Apex; son, Gary Sullivan and wife, Lois Ann, of La Grange; daughter-in-law, Ellen Sullivan of Rocky Mount; grandchildren, Duff Sullivan and wife, Amy of Kill Devil Hills, Shannon Miles of Rocky Mount, Nikki Stout and husband, Adam, of La Grange, Daniel Jongleux of Richmond, Virginia, and Alicia Henrich and husband, Chaz, of Henderson, Nevada; great-grandchildren, Rebecca McPherson, Sky Sullivan, Jenna Sullivan, Katie Wiggins (Matt), Logan Miles, Henry Miles, Addison Stout, Margo Stout, Emery Henrich, and Holden Henrich; and great-great grandchild, Wyatt Wiggins.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of The Herritage Elite, Synergy Home Care, 3HC Home Health and Hospice, and Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
