Faye Dail

June 22, 1951 – July 27, 2025

La Grange – Catherine Faye Lokey Dail, lovingly known as Faye, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the age of 74. Faye was born in New Hanover County on June 22, 1951. She was preceded in death by her father, H. Lokey; her father-in-law, Roy Lee Dail, Jr.; her nephew, Robbie Earl Dail; and her sister-in-law, Yuvonne Dail.

After the passing of her parents, Faye relocated to Kinston, where fate introduced her to the love of her life, Doug. Though life led them down different roads for a time, their paths crossed again, and from that moment on, they remained side by side for thirty-one cherished years of marriage.

Faye was not only a wife; she was Doug’s partner in every sense. Together, they shared a passion for racing, with Faye serving as Doug’s best crew chief. Whether at the track or in everyday life, they were happiest simply being together.

An enthusiastic cook, Faye collected countless cookbooks and had a kitchen stocked to serve a crowd. Her joy extended beyond the stove to her yard, where she loved working outdoors and often joined Doug in his grass-cutting business, never one to shy away from lending a hand.

Faye also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially cats. Over the years, she and Doug welcomed many feline companions into their home, each one treated with love and affection as if they were the favorite.

Faye is survived by her devoted husband, Douglas Dail; brother-in-law, Bobby Dail; mother-in-law, Grace Dail; and a number of extended family members.

A service of love and remembrance will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Rouse Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 noon. Committal will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston.
