Bruce Alton Moody, 81, passed away at his home on Monday, March 2, 2026. Bruce was born in Lenoir County to the late Alton and Ruby Butts Moody on July 26, 1944. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry Moody and Charles Moody.

Obituary: Jo Ann Rhodes

In the early morning hours of Wednesday, February 18, 2026, Jo Ann White Rhodes entered into eternal life with Jesus Christ, hearing the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant”. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, on November 8, 1941, Jo Ann was the daughter of the late Haywood Josiah White and Addie Margaret White. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Jon Anderson White and Elvira White Fortescue.

Ruth Gauldin Grady Fleming, 87, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, while receiving care at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. Ruth was born on January 8, 1939, in Lenoir County to the late Robert Clarence Gauldin and Lula Marie Neal Gauldin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester Ray Grady Sr., in 1970; her second husband, William Glenn Fleming, in 1995; and her brother, Larry Gauldin.

Betty Jean Grantham Rollins, 91, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026. Betty was born in Wayne County to the late Emma Lee Alphin Grantham Hall and Paul Grantham on July 14, 1934. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, DJ Hall; her husband of 68 years, Benjamin Ennis Rollins Sr.; a son, Leonidas “Lee” Grantham Rollins; her sister, Billie Hail; her brother, Paul Grantham; and nieces, Lea Rollins and Paula Hail.
