Obituary: Jessica Rose Jones Dunn

Jessica Rose Jones Dunn, 68 of Kinston, was called to her heavenly home and reunited with her beloved husband Donnie on September 27, 2025.

Jessica was born on July 26, 1957, in Lenoir County and a native of Greene County to the late Jesse Earl Jones and Lucy Everett Jones.

Jessica retired from Tidewater Transit on May 31, 2024, after working there for 21 years, but her work didn’t stop there. Upon retirement you would find Jessica gathered every morning with her special friends at Lovick’s enjoying breakfast. In her free time, she loved shopping and whipping up her homemade Chicken & Pastry for her family. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and “No” was never an option when it came to Emerson and Cale. Trips to the beach, Disney World or New York, Jessica never missed a moment to make priceless memories with her grandchildren.

Jessica is survived by her loving children Donald “Clay” Dunn II and wife Brittany Hardman Dunn of La Grange, Christopher Aaron Dunn and wife Savannah Strickland Dunn of Nashville NC; grandchildren Emerson Reese Dunn and Cale Easton Dunn of La Grange; sister Catherine Jones Bass and husband Jerry Howard Bass of Kinston. Bonus Brother Douglas Stocks and wife Janet of Snow Hill; Bonus sisters Tammy Everett of Kinston and Lisa Jones of Snow Hill. The Family also wants to Thank 3HC Home Health and Hospice.

A Memorial service will be held at 7p.m., Thursday October 2nd, 2025, at Wheat Swamp Christian Church with Pastor Allen Ham and Hank Jarman officiating. Visitation will follow the service and at other times at the home of Clay and Brittany Dunn, 2553 Stratford Drive, LaGrange.

Graveside will be held at 11:00a.m., Friday October 3rd, 2025, at Westview Cemetery.
