Years later, after her father passed away, she reconnected with her aunt and witnessed something that would change her life: a boy who could barely form sentences steering a 1,200-pound horse on his own during a therapeutic riding lesson.

LaGrange man arrested after KPD traffic stop leads to meth discovery
On August 15, 2025, at approximately 1:35 a.m., Kinston Police Department D-Squad officers conducted a traffic stop on Vernon Avenue with 49-year-old Eric Pettry of LaGrange. During the stop, K9 Kilo performed an open-air sniff around the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics.
