On August 16, 2025, at approximately 11:20 a.m., officers with the Kinston Police Department’s C-Squad were dispatched to Sarah’s House of Beauty, located on the 2400 block of North Herritage Street, in reference to a reported stabbing.

Upon arrival, officers located a female victim who reported that 37-year-old Sara Roshell, of Kinston, entered the salon and began arguing over a hairstyle she received on a previous day. The argument escalated, and Roshell assaulted the victim. During the altercation, the victim attempted to defend herself when Roshell grabbed a razor and cut her across the arm.

Following the assault, Roshell took money from the victim’s purse before leaving the business. Officers quickly located Roshell inside the shopping center and took her into custody without further incident. The victim was transported by EMS to UNC Lenoir for treatment.

Roshell has been charged with the following offenses:

• Assault With a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury (AWDWISI)
• Common Law Robbery
