On April 11, 2025, officers from the Kinston Police Department’s C-Squad attempted a traffic stop on Macon Street. The driver of the vehicle refused to stop and fled, initiating a pursuit. The chase ended when the driver crashed into a fence. She then fled on foot into nearby woods, taking an 8-year-old passenger with her.
Officers conducted a traffic stop on Adkin Street and observed an extended firearm magazine protruding from underneath the driver’s seat. Upon further investigation, officers located a concealed firearm inside the vehicle. A 17-year-old female passenger admitted ownership of the firearm.
On Thursday, December 12, 2024, at approximately 10:39 AM, the Kinston Police Department's C-Squad received a tip regarding a wanted subject. Marque Darden, 30, of Dudley, NC, was wanted by the Kinston Police Department in connection with a felonious assault that took place earlier.
On August 12, 2024, KPD’s C-Squad responded to a breaking and entering report at Squires Automotive , located at 603 N Herritage Street. Officers are currently working to identify the individuals captured in the photos.
KPD"s C-Squad officers were searching the area of Dixon Street for a report of shots fired. Officers made contact with Sentelle Leonard (24 of Goldsboro, NC) in the area and discovered he was illegally concealing a handgun.
KPD's C-Squad observed several ATV's riding in the park at Georgia K Battle. The drivers fled the area once they observed they officers. Officers attempted to pursue the ATV's before terminating the pursuit. Officers conducted an area search and located one of the ATV's and the driver hiding in some bushes.
KPD's C-Squad responded to a residence on Waverly Avenue for a report of shots fired within a residence. Officers arrived on scene and their investigation revealed that convicted felon - Sean Croom (50 of Kinston) accused his uncle of stealing his firearm.
KPD Detectives with the Investigation Division were actively investigating a vehicle fire that occurred on 02/23/2024 and a stolen vehicle report that occurred on 02/25/2024.
Officers from C-Squad and the Violent Crime Action Team attempted to check out with two subjects for a trespass violation. When the offenders saw the officers, they fled on foot. Officers apprehend the offenders and located 2 firearms.
C-Squad officers received information related to a vehicle stolen from Wilmington NC. Officers located the vehicle traveling on HWY 11 and initiated a traffic stop. The driver, Sklyer Potter (22, Lenoir County) and Andrea Milhoan (35, Lenoir County) were taken into custody. Milhoan, a convicted felon was also in possession of firearm. Officers on C-Squad initiated a traffic stop with Dewyer Freeman (32, Snow Hill, NC). During the traffic stop officers observed narcotic violations. During a search, officers located over 50 grams of marijuana packed for distribution and a concealed firearm. Freeman was arrested without incident and placed in the LC Jail for the following:
Officers on C-Squad responded to a report of someone attempting to use a stolen bank card at McDonalds. Officers arrived and found Mohnee Bostic (26, Snow Hill, NC) at the scene in possession of the stolen bank card and a stolen vehicle. Bostic was arrested and charged with the following:
Officers on C-Squad conducted a traffic stop with Seth Griffin (22) related to a Driving While Impaired investigation. The investigation lead to Griffin's arrest for Driving While Impaired and Possession of Methamphetamine. In addition, he was also cited for additional traffic offenses. Griffin was placed in the LC Jail under a secured bond.

Officers on C-Squad encountered Marlake Velez on E Lenoir Avenue. During the encounter, Velez fled from officers. Officers were able apprehend Velez shortly after a foot pursuit behind a residence on E Lenoir Avenue.
