Edwards Funeral Home hosts annual First Responders Breakfast

Edwards Funeral Home continued its tradition of honoring those who serve and protect the community by hosting its annual First Responders Breakfast on Aug. 14.

Owner Justin Smith welcomed law enforcement, firefighters, EMS personnel and other emergency workers for a morning of food and fellowship. The event, held at Edwards Funeral Home, is designed to recognize the dedication and sacrifices of local first responders.

“We appreciate all of our first responders,” Smith said. “They risk everything for us and are here to protect us, and we just want to say thank you. The police department has had a lot going on over the last few months, and we just want to support them.”

First responders enjoyed a hearty breakfast and the opportunity to connect with each other and community members in a relaxed setting. Smith said the annual event is one way Edwards Funeral Home can give back to those who work tirelessly in service of others.

“They’re here to help us, and we just appreciate them all,” he said.
