On December 5, 2025, at approximately 8:57 p.m., officers with the Kinston Police Department’s A-Squad conducted a traffic stop in the 1300 block of N. Queen Street involving 30-year-old Wasim Ismail of Wilmington, NC.
On Saturday, September 14, 2024, at around 8:46 p.m., Leonardo Orgas, 44, of Snow Hill, NC, was driving westbound in the eastbound lane of US Hwy 70 when he was stopped by KPD’s A-Squad. After an investigation, Orgas was arrested and charged with Driving While Impaired.
August 17, 2024, KPD's A-Squad responded to a report of felony Larceny at 1308 W Vernon Avenue. It was reported that the subject in the photo entered the business and stole items before fleeing the scene.
KPD's A-Squad responded to a residence on Old Snow Hill Road for a report of someone being chased by a motor vehicle. Officers arrived on scene and made contact with Jeronte Dudley (25 of LaGrange) and his girlfriend, Keola Thompson (23 of Kinston).
KPD's A-Squad conducted a traffic stop on Hines Avenue & Vernon Avenue with Brittany Futrell (34 of Hugo NC) after she called 911. During the traffic stop officers placed a tire deflating device under the tires due to Futrell's actions that led officers to believe she was going to flee.
A-Squad was conducting a license checkpoint on Hwy 11 and Liberty Hill Road. Dorian Powell approached the checkpoint and officers observed narcotic violations. During the investigations, officers located cocaine and marijuana.
Officers on A-Squad were conducting a license checkpoint on S Queen Street. Officers encountered Bernard Smith (50, Kinston) and suspected impairment. Officers conducted their investigation and determined impairment. Smith was arrested for Driving While Impaired in placed in the LC Jail.
A-Squad officers received information related to a stolen motor vehicle from Greenville NC. Officers were advised that Kewon Hardy (24, Kinston) had warrants for the Larceny of a Motor Vehicle. Officers located the vehicle and Hardy
A-Squad Officers conducted a traffic stop with Travis Myers (23) for motor vehicle violations. The traffic stop led to the discovery of drug paraphernalia and a concealed firearm. Myers was taken into custody and charged with the following:
