Lenoir Community College has officially launched LCC Online, a new way for students to earn the same high-quality degrees offered on campus—anytime, anywhere. The launch took place at the College’s Professional Development Day on August 13, marking the beginning of a new era in flexible, accessible learning for students near and far.

Sadie Ann Turner Aycock, 72, set out for her final journey on Thursday, August 14, 2025. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Monday, August 18, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home. A private committal service will follow on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, in the family cemetery.

On August 15, 2025, at approximately 1:35 a.m., Kinston Police Department D-Squad officers conducted a traffic stop on Vernon Avenue with 49-year-old Eric Pettry of LaGrange. During the stop, K9 Kilo performed an open-air sniff around the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics.

The event, held at the Kinston Community Center at 6:00 p.m., brought together students, their families, and community members to honor the future Eagles.
