Friday morning, I opened an email informing me that Beth Newton passed away Monday. We are pleased to announce that the City of Kinston has been awarded funding from the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency for the 2027 Essential Single-Family Rehabilitation Loan Pool Project (ESFRLP27). ESFRLP27 provides home repair assistance through a 0% interest, deferred-forgivable loan. The loan is forgiven in equal portions each year for up to five years, as long as the homeowner continues to live in the home.
