Housing Repair Loan Program
We are pleased to announce that the City of Kinston has been awarded funding from the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency for the 2027 Essential Single-Family Rehabilitation Loan Pool Project (ESFRLP27). ESFRLP27 provides home repair assistance through a 0% interest, deferred-forgivable loan. The loan is forgiven in equal portions each year for up to five years, as long as the homeowner continues to live in the home.
We invite you to attend one of three Information Sessions to learn more about eligibility, program requirements, and the process for applying:
• November 13 at 5:30pm at Kinston City Hall, Council Chambers at 207 E King St, Kinston, NC 28501.
• November 15 at 9:30am at Georgia K. Battle Community Center at 401 Lincoln St, Kinston, NC 28501.
• November 18 at 3:00pm at La Grange Town Hall at 203 S Center St, La Grange, NC 28551.
Qualifications for this program include:
Owning and occupying your single-family home
Living in Lenoir County
Household income is at or less than 80% of Median income in the county
The household fits one of the following criteria:
Elderly
Veteran
Disabled
Child under the age of 6 lives in the home in the presence of lead-based paint
