Safeway Logistics announces layoffs in Kinston
Safeway Logistics LLC has filed a federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice for the permanent layoff of 72 employees at its Kinston facility. The layoffs are scheduled to begin Nov. 22, 2025. The WARN Act requires employers to provide 60 days’ notice before mass layoffs, allowing affected employees time to prepare. The North Carolina Department of Commerce said the filing triggers the state’s Rapid Response team to assist impacted workers. More information on WARN notices is available through the NC Department of Commerce website.
