eCourts is now live in 11 more eastern counties, including Greene and Lenoir

RALEIGH — eCourts is officially live in 11 additional counties today, April 28, 2025: Bertie, Edgecombe, Greene, Halifax, Hertford, Lenoir, Nash, Northampton, Pitt, Wayne, and Wilson counties. This includes eFiling, Portal, and Enterprise Justice (Odyssey). eCourts is now available across 73 counties from the mountains to the coast with electronic filing and online search for court records, and will provide electronic access to justice for nearly 8.5 million North Carolinians.

Trespassing call leads to assault on officers

On April 26, 2025, at approximately 7:13 p.m., officers from the Kinston Police Department’s A-Squad responded to a 911 call regarding a trespassing incident at an apartment in the Simon Bright community. The caller reported that an individual was trespassing and "causing problems," and provided officers with the subject’s name and clothing description.

Lenoir Community College to Lead Reentry Efforts in Lenoir, Greene, and Jones Counties

Lenoir Community College has been awarded a contract by the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction to serve as the lead agency for the Reentry Council of Lenoir, Greene, and Jones Counties. As the official Intermediary Agency, LCC will provide administrative support and coordination for the Council’s efforts to help individuals successfully transition from incarceration back into their communities.

 The primary role of the Reentry Case Manager is to provide direct services that address the employment, vocational, and training needs of offenders/formerly incarcerated individuals and develop an individual employment strategy or employment plan for each offender.
