Vendor Spotlight: Carol Davis of Porter Farms
Lenoir County Farmers Market
Each Saturday morning at the Lenoir County Farmers Market, you’ll find Carol Davis greeting customers with a warm smile and a table full of farm-fresh produce. For over 15 years, Carol has been a devoted presence at the Porter Farms booth, sharing her passion for local agriculture and building lasting relationships with market visitors.
“I love all of the farm fresh vegetables you are able to buy,” Carol says. “I think others should come down and help support their local farmers to help them support their families. I have been working with Porter Farms for about 15 years. I have met some really sweet people and made some great friendships that come back every year.”
Carol’s daughter, Michelle Davis, reflects on her mother’s dedication with heartfelt admiration.
“Ever since I was a little girl, I can remember my mama working (along with my daddy) to make sure my brother and I had everything we needed and most everything we wanted,” Michelle shares. “She taught me how to make a house a home and how to be a mama to my own children. Her work ethic is beyond words. My mama loves the farmers market and every person she gets to chat with each Saturday morning while working for Porter Farms. I feel confident that they all love her too. I am thankful and blessed to be able to say she’s my mama.”
Carol represents the heart of what makes the Farmer’s Market special—community, connection, and care. Her work with Porter Farms brings the freshest local produce to the market, while her spirit leaves a lasting impression on everyone she meets.
So next time you visit the Lenoir County Farmers Market, stop by Porter Farms, say hello to Carol Davis, and enjoy the fruits (and vegetables) of a life dedicated to family, farming, and friendship.
