Tara Carroll named 2025-2026 Lenoir County Public Schools Teacher of the Year

Snow Hill Primary announces "Terrific Kid" awards

Snow Hill Primary gives out a weekly award called "Terrific Kid" awards.  Each teacher at SHP chooses a student who has been responsible, shows great character, or has reached a personal goal.  On Fridays, these students are presented with an award and are congratulated for their hard work.  Below are Snow Hill Primary's last Terrific Kid Awards!

Mike Parker: An Evening Out with ‘The Old Guard’

Last Wednesday evening, I was blessed to eat dinner with three of my older grandchildren. Those of you who have read my column for years will remember that I have two sets of grandkids. The “Old Guard” are my first four: Courtney, Haley, Taylor, and Jaxen. The “Young Guns” are the last eight: Isaiah, Abby, Alex, Ben, Hannah, Laney, Alli, and Luke.

Help Wanted: Maintenance Supervisor

 The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the maintenance and upkeep of all campus buildings and infrastructure. This includes performing routine and emergency repairs to ensure a safe and comfortable environment. In addition to supervising and directing maintenance technicians, the Maintenance Supervisor will also be actively involved in hands-on maintenance work as needed to address immediate concerns and maintain operational efficiency.

Greene County Schools Honors County Teacher of the Year

Snow Hill, NC— On April 14, 2025, Greene County Schools is proud to recognize Heather Davis from Greene Early College, one of its most dedicated and passionate educators, as this year’s Greene County Schools Teacher of the Year. Dr. Rodney McNeil, Executive Director of Human Capital and incoming Superintendent, along with Dr. Taylor Moore, Principal of Greene Early College, had the privilege of announcing this year's winner with a visit to her classroom.
