EPIC Center’s Walk 4 Life draws nearly 200 participants and raises $10,000 to support local families

The EPIC Center’s annual Walk 4 Life took place this past Saturday at Lenoir Community College. The event was a tremendous success, drawing together community members from across eastern North Carolina in support of life. With 191 registered participants and approximately $10,000 raised, the event highlighted the region’s deep commitment to empowering women and strengthening families.

Participants walked or ran in a spirit of unity, hope, and purpose—supporting the EPIC Center’s mission to remove barriers to motherhood and provide free, life-affirming services. The funds raised through the event will directly support women facing unplanned pregnancies, helping them access free pregnancy tests, limited ultrasounds, parenting education, and essential baby supplies.

“This community continues to blow us away with their generosity and love for life,” said Emma Barnes, Executive Director of the EPIC Center. “From volunteers to team captains to individual donors, we are incredibly thankful for each person who showed up to make this event possible. Because of you, women and families in our region will have the resources, encouragement, and support they need to thrive.”

Among the highlights of the day, the Largest Team Award went to Boundless Boots Group, who showed up in full force with an impressive 26 team members. The Fundraising Award was earned by Kinston First PH, who raised the most funds to support women and families through the EPIC Center.

In the timed 5K, the top three female finishers were Amanda White in first place, followed by Riley Tyndall in second, and Caroline Lanier in third. For the men, Timmy Humphrey claimed first place, Victor Gonzalez came in second, and Sean Conner rounded out the top three.

The EPIC Center is looking forward to next year's Walk 4 Life & 5K.
