EPIC Center Announces 2026 Walk 4 Life & 5K at Lenoir Community College
The EPIC Center invites the community to participate in its annual Walk 4 Life & 5K on Saturday, April 18, 2026, beginning at 8:00 a.m. at Lenoir Community College. The event is open to all ages and fitness levels and will take place rain or shine.
The Walk 4 Life & 5K brings together runners, walkers, families, churches, businesses, and civic groups to support the EPIC Center’s mission of empowering women to choose life supporting parents with the tools they need to thrive.
Participants may choose between a timed 5K, an untimed 5K, or a one-mile walk. Each event includes a team option, making the event accessible for competitive runners as well as casual walkers and families. Awards will be presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, along with age-group awards for top finishers in each category.
All proceeds from the event directly support the EPIC Center’s services, which include free pregnancy tests, free limited ultrasounds, parenting education, and material resources for women and families in the community.
“This event is one of the most meaningful days of the year for our organization,” said Emma Barnes, Executive Director of the EPIC Center. “The Walk 4 Life & 5K is about more than running or walking—it’s about standing together as a community to support women and ensure families know they are not alone. Every step taken helps make our services possible.”
Participants who register by March 20 are guaranteed an official race T-shirt. Registration will also be available on race day until 7:30 am.
Community members are encouraged to register individually or form teams with friends, family members, coworkers, churches, or organizations.
