Margaret Lucile Davis, age 90, of Kinston, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, surrounded by the love and prayers of her family. Visitation will be held at Edwards Funeral Home on Thursday, August 28, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Brian Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston.
Jackie Gray Mewborn, 80, was gently carried home in the early hours of Saturday, August 23, 2025, wrapped in the love of her family and the care of those who had walked alongside her in her final chapter at Helping Hands Assisted Living.

Herman “Jr” Hardison Jr., 77 years old, of Grifton, North Carolina, passed away on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. Graveside Services will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at their family cemetery at 3487 British Rd., Kinston.

Pastors Chris Truett, Bert Potter, and Allen Stocks will officiate. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 23 at 11:00 a.m. at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston.
Mrs. Eva Faye Duke Elmore, age 79, passed away Monday afternoon, August 18th, 2025, at Greendale Forest Nursing and Rehab Center following a brief period of declining health. Funeral Services will be held graveside 11 AM Friday, August 22nd, at the Snow Hill Cemetery with the Reverend Keith Phillips officiating.

The family will receive friends at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service ~ Letchworth Chapel in Scotland Neck on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM with Elder William Edwards officiating the service. A private burial will take place at the Baptist Cemetery.
