The Lenoir County Chamber of Commerce’s Aug. 26 community newsletter highlighted upcoming local events, including the Lenoir County Education Foundation Golf Tournament, which raises money for mini grants for LCPS teachers. The calendar includes Art of the Palate with Tammy Kelly on Aug. 27, several September community events, the Lenoir County Agricultural Fair in October and holiday performances at Lenoir Community College later this year.

The Kinston City Council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, at City Hall, 207 E. King St., to consider a rezoning request, a proposed street renaming, a sewer grant hearing, a budget amendment and other items.
