Lenoir County Deputies Recover Stolen Vehicle, Arrest Driver

On August 27, 2026, deputies with the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Burncoat Road in reference to a stolen motor vehicle.

The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office that a 2007 red Ford F-150 had been reported stolen and was believed to be traveling toward Lenoir County on Burncoat Road.

Deputies with C-Shift located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, identified as Carmen Hobbs, was taken into custody without incident. Deputies with the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and arrested Hobbs in connection with the theft that occurred in their jurisdiction.

Following the investigation, Lenoir County deputies obtained a warrant charging Hobbs with Felony Possession of Stolen Goods/Property. Hobbs was served with the warrant while being held at the Duplin County Jail.
