LCSO Flock Camera System Assists in Locating Missing Special Needs individual

On August 28, 2026, the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) assisted the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office in locating a missing male with special needs from Wilkes County. The individual had been entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) under a Silver Alert.

During the investigation, LCSO deputies utilized the agency’s Flock camera system to assist in locating the vehicle associated with the missing individual. Information obtained through the system provided deputies with valuable investigative leads and helped narrow the search area.

The vehicle was subsequently located on US 70 near the La Grange exit in Lenoir County. Deputies made contact with the missing individual, and EMS responded to the scene and transported him to UNC Lenoir for evaluation.

LCSO personnel contacted a lieutenant with the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office and provided notification that the missing individual had been located. The individual’s family was also notified and responded to UNC Lenoir.

The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office is committed to utilizing available technology and working cooperatively with law enforcement agencies across North Carolina to assist in locating missing and endangered individuals, particularly those who may be especially vulnerable due to age, medical conditions, or special needs.

This incident demonstrates how law enforcement cooperation, technology, and timely investigative efforts can work together to quickly locate missing persons and help bring them safely home.
