Tony Corbin
September 19, 1962 – August 29, 2026
Wilson—Anthony “Tony” Sutton Corbin, 63, passed away in the early morning on Saturday, August 29, 2026. Tony was born in Wayne County to the late Becton and Christan Sutton Corbin on September 19, 1962. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father- and mother-in-law, Jaime and Connie Bautista; and a brother-in-law, Bob Zahn.
Employed as the store manager for Food Lion until his retirement, Tony spent many years serving his customers and making lasting relationships. Easy to talk to and always friendly, Tony had a generous spirit and was always thought highly of by those who got to know him.
A dedicated sports fan, Tony enjoyed a good round of golf and watching sports on television. A constant fan for the Yankees in baseball, the Redskins in football, and Bill Elliott in Nascar, none compared to watching his grandchildren play on their sports teams.
Spending time with his family was at the top of Tony’s priority list. From getaways at Atlantic Beach to day-to-day routines, he was happiest when surrounded by his family. With a quick wit and a story ready to tell, he kept his family laughing.
A memorial service to honor Tony’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Rouse Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Tony is survived by his wife of over forty-five years, Brenda Corbin; children, Elizabeth Corbin Herring (Andrew Lassiter), Kaylynn Corbin Johnson (Will), and Derek Anthony Corbin; grandchildren, Corbin, Sawyer, Molly, Shepard, Beck, Spencer, Hayes, and Sutton; siblings, Beck Corbin (Carol), Clarissa Zahn, and Lou Ellen Harring (Don); along with his faithful and loving animals, Vera, Elliot, and Stella.
