The Aspen Institute Names Lenoir Community College as a Top 200 U.S.

WASHINGTON D.C. – On October 28, 2025, the Aspen Institute named Lenoir Community College as one of the 200 institutions eligible to compete for the $1 million Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence, the nation’s premier recognition of high achievement and performance among two-year colleges. The 200 colleges were selected based on their student outcomes data, including retention, completion, transfer, and bachelor’s attainment rates. Started in 2010, this is the ninth cycle of the Aspen Prize. 

Snow Hill Primary Terrific Kid awards

Snow Hill Primary gives out a weekly award called "Terrific Kid" awards.  Each teacher at SHP chooses a student who has been responsible, shows great character, or has reached a personal goal.  On Fridays, these students are presented with an award and are congratulated for their hard work.  Below are Snow Hill Primary's Terrific Kid Awards!

Greene Lamp Community Action announces and warns of potential service disruptions across 12 counties in Eastern, NC

Greene Lamp Community Action, a Community Action Agency providing services in Beaufort, Craven, Duplin, Edgecombe, Greene, Lenoir, Martin, Pamlico, Pitt, Sampson, Wayne, and Wilson counties issued a warning and notification Monday that critical programs serving hundreds of local residents are at risk of disruption if the federal government shutdown continues.
