The Public is hereby advised that the Executive Director will be submitting the Proposed Budget for the Neuse Regional Water and Sewer Authority (NRWASA) for FY2026/2027 to the Directors of the Authority. Copies of the Proposed Budget are on file at the office of the NRWASA. The Budget is available for public inspection during normal business hours until the Budget Ordinance is adopted. Please take notice that on May 18, 2026 at 7:00 p.m., Jones County will conduct a public hearing for the purpose of receiving public comments on the proposed creation of a fire protection service district pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. §153A-301 et seq. The public hearing will be held in the Commissioners’ Room in the Jones County Administration Building, located at 110 Market St., Trenton, North Carolina.
On May 9, 2026, officers with the Kinston Police Department’s A-Squad responded to a report of four suspects breaking into a building located at 834 Hardee Road. The caller advised that the suspects were actively defacing the building with paint.
Kevin Paul Foss, 25, was taken from this world far too soon, leaving behind a profound emptiness in the lives of all who knew and loved him. A service to celebrate Kevin’s life will be held at Rouse Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 with Pastor Gerald Fowler. Committal will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home.

Jones County Health Department will host Cradle to Community Care Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at the Jones County Civic Center, 832 N.C. 58 South in Trenton.
