1. PURPOSE
Lenoir County Public Schools is soliciting quotations from qualified HVAC contractors for the replacement of the existing HVAC system serving Northwest Elementary School Auditorium. The project includes installation of a new rooftop heat pump unit, installation of a DuctSox air distribution system, removal of existing Bard wall-mounted HVAC units, and patching/restoration of associated wall openings.
The contractor shall provide a complete turnkey installation including all labor, materials, equipment, permits, supervision, startup, testing, balancing, and disposal required for a fully operational system.
2. SCOPE OF WORK
The successful contractor shall provide all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the following work:
A. Rooftop Heat Pump Installation
Furnish and install two (2) new rooftop heat pump HVAC units sized appropriately for the auditorium space.
Provide and install all required:
Roof curbs
Structural supports
Electrical connections
Disconnects
Thermostats and controls
Condensate drains
Duct transitions
Refrigerant piping and accessories as required
Coordinate and provide crane services as necessary.
Perform startup, testing, balancing, and commissioning.
B. DuctSox Air Distribution System
Furnish and install a complete DuctSox system for auditorium air distribution.
System shall include:
Fabric duct runs
Suspension system
Required fittings and transitions
Diffusers/nozzles as required
Air balancing
Layout shall provide even air distribution and minimize noise and drafts.
Contractor shall provide available color options for owner selection.
C. Removal of Existing Bard Units
Remove all existing Bard wall-mounted HVAC units and associated components.
Disconnect electrical and controls as required.
Remove unused mounting hardware and accessories.
Dispose of all removed materials off-site in accordance with applicable regulations.
D. Wall Patching & Restoration
Patch and restore all openings resulting from removal of Bard units.
Restore interior and exterior wall surfaces
Provide weather-tight and insulated closure of all penetrations.
3. CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
Contractors submitting quotations shall:
Hold all applicable North Carolina licenses.
Carry required liability and workers compensation insurance.
Comply with all OSHA safety standards.
Coordinate work to minimize disruption to school activities.
Obtain and coordinate all required permits and inspections.
4. QUOTATION REQUIREMENTS
Contractor quotations shall include:
Total lump sum project cost
Rooftop unit manufacturer and model number
Equipment capacity and efficiency data
DuctSox product information
Proposed project schedule
Warranty information
List of exclusions or assumptions
References for similar projects
5. SITE VISIT
A pre-bid site visit is: Mandatory

8. ADDITIONAL NOTES
Contractor shall verify all field dimensions and existing conditions prior to bidding.
Any deviations from this scope shall be clearly identified in the quotation.
