Obituary: Kevin Paul Foss
December 9, 2000 – May 8, 2026
Mount Olive- Kevin Paul Foss, 25, was taken from this world far too soon, leaving behind a profound emptiness in the lives of all who knew and loved him. Born in Lenoir County on December 9, 2000, Kevin was the son of Rickey Foss Jr. and Kelley Graham Pittman. He was preceded in death by his loving grandmothers, Paulette Lancaster Burroughs and Beverly Mitchell Foss.
Possessing an old soul with a gentle heart and kind spirit, Kevin loved life’s simple pleasures. Finding joy in shooting pool or out on the boat for hours fishing with his dad and brothers, he was happiest in the company of his family and friends. He loved classic movies and television, and took delight in watching shows such as Walker, Texas Ranger when he was growing up. With a taste in music that spanned many genres and generations, he loved everything from Elvis Presley to Ronnie Milsap, Hank Williams Jr., and the Gaithers. Gaining the nickname “Jukebox” in high school, Kevin’s love for music made him an encyclopedia of songs and artists.
A devoted sports fan, Kevin mostly cheered for the Carolina Panthers, despite the grief and disappointment they may have brought him. In good times and bad, however, he was a lifelong and unwavering supporter of the NC State Wolfpack.
Earning the rank of Eagle Scout through the Boy Scouts of America, Kevin completed his Eagle Scout rank by taking on the project of building the handicap ramp at the La Grange Rotary Building.
Above all, Kevin loved his family. From strong bonds with his grandparents and parents to a closeness with his siblings, his family was his greatest joy and biggest blessing. He adored his son, Stetson, and looked forward to the day his family was complete by marrying his fiancée, Deanna. For Kevin, a large and tight-knit family was more precious than anything money could buy. Though his time on earth was all too brief, Kevin was surrounded by a loving family and close friends, returning the same love and devotion to them.
A service to celebrate Kevin’s life will be held at Rouse Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 with Pastor Gerald Fowler. Committal will follow the service at Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Rick and Kristina Foss and Jay and Kelley Pittman; his fiancée, Deanna Leigh Matthews; son, Stetson; siblings, Josh Quinn, Waylon Foss, and Caroline Foss; grandparents, Rickey and Edna Foss, Sr., Doug Burroughs, Bobby and Lisa Wilkins Lane, Mike Wilkins, and Jim and Ann Pittman; special aunt and uncle, Michelle and John Weatherford; along with many loved aunts and uncles and a small circle of dedicated friends who will forever hold him close in their hearts.
