Obituary: Terry Foss

Terry Foss April 7, 1952 – January 22, 2026

La Grange-Terrance “Terry” Fleming Foss, 73, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026. Terry was born in Lenoir County to the late Emmett Wooten Foss, Sr. and Geneva Smith Foss Wood on April 7, 1952. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Kathy Mundinger English; brothers, Robert Earl Foss and Simon Wood; and great-nephew, Charlie Robert Foss.

Working for himself as a restaurant equipment repairman, Terry started his own company and saw great success throughout his tenure. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed spending time working in his garden or out on the water with a fishing pole in hand.

Quiet and reserved, he preferred being in the background though he was a constant support for anyone who needed him. Living his life in the home in which he was raised, Terry had a great love for the country life, and there was no better location in the world than Heath Road.

A graveside service will be held at the Foss Family Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2026 with Tommy Heath officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 noon at the home of John Foss, 4517 Bear Creek Road, La Grange, NC.

Terry is survived by his siblings, Emmett Foss Jr. and John Foss (Phyllis); Kathy’s children, Melissa Martin-Wilder and Karen Gregory; grandchildren, Andrew Martin, Timothy Allen, Katherine Allen, Mark Gregory, and Shane Gregory; seven great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Mandy Foss, Matt Foss, Laura Foss, John Foss, Jr. (Stephanie), David Foss (Ashley), Bob Foss Jr. (Karen), and Joey Foss; and his two faithful dogs, LeRoy and Baby.
