Ava Privette Cooke, 91, of Kinston, passed away on February 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family and welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior.
Dixie Rose Hardy Carter, 78, was welcomed into her heavenly home on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. She was born in Wayne County on November 2, 1947, to the late William Randolph Hardy and Florence Elizabeth Mozingo Hardy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth King; a son, Glen King; a grandson, David Greenup; and her sisters, Regina Stelley, Gwynn Holland, and Betty Deaver.
William “Bill” Francis Russell died on Sunday, December 21, 2025 in Kinston, NC. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Bill was a native of Greenville, TN, and attended East Tennessee State University and served in the National Guard.
Terrance “Terry” Fleming Foss, 73, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026. Terry was born in Lenoir County to the late Emmett Wooten Foss, Sr. and Geneva Smith Foss Wood on April 7, 1952. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Kathy Mundinger English; brothers, Robert Earl Foss and Simon Wood; and great-nephew, Charlie Robert Foss.
Cary Russell Vinson, 78, passed away on January 25, 2026. Russell was born in Wayne County on October 24, 1947, to the late Milford Russell Vinson and Carrie Mae Parrish Vinson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Andrea Nikole “Nikki” Vinson; and two sisters, Jean Rouse and Kaye Gray.
Following a valiant fight and filled with a faith just as fierce, Carolyn Joyce Bias, 63, exchanged the suffering of this world for the embrace of her Savior on Monday, January 12, 2026.
Jesse Ray Burkett Sr., 83, of 1373 Sumrell Road Kinston, NC 28501 went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday December 7, 2025, at UNC Lenoir Hospital. He was born February 15, 1942, to the late William Bryant and Lady Dell Parrish Burkett in Jones County.
Virgil Lee Eubanks, 84, of Kinston, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2025. Born September 17, 1941, to the late Guy Thornton Eubanks and Mary Waters Eubanks, Virgil lived a life dedicated to family, entrepreneurship, and community service.
Julius Daniel “Bud” Harris, 85, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 11, 2025. A service of love and remembrance will be held at Rouse Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 with Pastors Josh Howell and Virgil Whaley officiating. Committal will follow at Snow Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home.
Stephen Michael “Mike” Anderson, 53, of Trenton, met his Lord and Savior suddenly on September 21, 2025, while on duty in Chesapeake, VA.
Francis Earl Wood, 89, passed away peacefully early Friday morning at his home, surrounded by the love of his family. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home in La Grange. A service celebrating Earl’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 in the chapel of Rouse Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service on Tuesday at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston.
Robert Vernon Dail, 86, of Kinston, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2025. The family will receive friends at the home of Henry after the graveside service which will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 25, 2025 at Pinelawn Memorial Park in Kinston, NC.
Susan Elizabeth Spence, known to friends and family as Beth, passed away Saturday, March 30, 2024, from a long illness. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at a later date.
