Chris Humphrey: November Legislative Update

I hope this message finds you and your family doing well. Itโ€™s been a full month here in Raleigh and throughout Lenoir, Greene, and Jones counties โ€” and Iโ€™m grateful for every opportunity to stay connected with folks across our district. From honoring our veterans to celebrating new investments in public safety, jobs, and education, thereโ€™s a lot of good happening in Eastern North Carolina.

Humphrey awarded 'Jobs Champion' designation from NC Chamber

RALEIGH, N.C. โ€” The North Carolina Chamber named Representative Chris Humphrey (R โ€“ Lenoir, Greene, Jones) a โ€˜Jobs Championโ€™ in its 2025 How They Voted report. This annual report details state legislatorsโ€™ voting records on bills identified as critical to preserving and enhancing North Carolinaโ€™s position as the #1 state in the U.S. for business. Representative Humphrey was recognized as a Jobs Champion for voting with the Chamberโ€™s Jobs Agenda 90% of the time during the 2025 legislative session. 

Snow Hill Primary "Terrific Kid" awards

Snow Hill Primary gives out a weekly award called "Terrific Kid" awards.  Each teacher at SHP chooses a student who has been responsible, shows great character, or has reached a personal goal.  On Fridays, these students are presented with an award and are congratulated for their hard work.  Below are Snow Hill Primary's Terrific Kid Awards!

UPDATE: Board dismisses election protests against Moore and Lipford

The Lenoir County Board of Elections dismissed the protest filed against Kinston Mayor-elect Kareem Moore on Monday night after the protestor failed to appear for the evidentiary hearing. In a separate hearing, the board voted 3โ€“2 to dismiss the protest against Council-elect Les Lipford. Two board members voted that the protest met the required standard, but the motion to advance it failed.
