Label Shopper Opens in Kinston Across from Walmart

Shoppers looking for national brands without the big-box price tag now have a new destination. Label Shopper has officially opened its doors in Kinston at 4150 W. Vernon Avenue, in the former Badcock Furniture location across from Walmart.

The store offers a wide variety of discounted apparel and goods for the entire family — including Nike, Champion, Levi’s, Puma, Wrangler, Columbia, and other well-known labels — along with shoes, toys, pet items, and household finds. Early visitors say the prices are “goodie,” with the store offering the feel of a TJ Maxx or Ross at smaller-town convenience.

Label Shopper is part of a retail family that started in 1970, when founder Peter Elitzer opened his first store in Latham, New York, dedicated to bringing brand-name fashion to everyone at off-price deals. The company has since expanded across the Northeast, Midwest, and five locations in North Carolina, with Kinston among the newest.

The store buys directly from brands, factories, and retailers, allowing it to offer name-brand clothing in Misses, Juniors, Plus, Men’s, and Kids sizes at steep discounts. Label Shopper’s buyers continually rotate inventory, making frequent visits worthwhile for shoppers hunting the latest styles and seasonal bargains.
