Over the weekend, the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reduction Team (CRT) partnered with the Wayne County DWI Task Force and the Onslow County DWI Task Force to conduct several enforcement events across the eastern region focused on impaired and reckless driving.
As summer turns to fall, I’ve been grateful for the chance to spend time with so many of you across Lenoir, Greene, and Jones Counties while also staying hard at work in Raleigh.
I have written before about not having the opportunity to meet Sandra’s father – Floyd Dawson. The closest I have come is through several photos of him – one that stands constant guard in our living room. In that photo, Floyd Dawson stands on the right of an ambulance, while an unidentified soldier stands on the left.

Campbell Price, a South Lenoir senior, was named Distinguished Young Woman of Lenoir County 2026 on Saturday evening. She is the daughter of Neal and Jill Price and plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Snow Hill Primary gives out a weekly award called "Terrific Kid" awards. Each teacher at SHP chooses a student who has been responsible, shows great character, or has reached a personal goal.
