BATON ROUGE, LA (05/06/2025)-- Hayley Fly of La Grange, North Carolina, was recently elected to membership into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation's oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society, at University of North Carolina Wilmington.
The Kinston Police Department is requesting assistance from the public in locating Bryson Bradley, 21 years old, who is wanted in connection with the murder of Korie Williams on September 20, 2024. Bradley has been evading authorities since the incident, and law enforcement is actively seeking his arrest.
The Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a man accused of intentionally setting a fire in La Grange this morning.

The Lenoir County Board of Education convened for its regular monthly meeting on Monday, May 5, 2025.
The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA-Part B, Public Law 108.446) Project is presently being amended. The Project describes the special education programs that Jones County Public School proposes for Federal funding for the 2025-2026 School Year.
A meeting will be held on May 13, 2025, from 3:00 pm – 4:00 p.m. at Jones County Board of Education, 320 West Jones Street Trenton, NC 28585. The purpose of this meeting is to consult with private schools and parents of parentally placed private school students as well as home-schooled students.
North Carolina has a continuing CHILD FIND procedure in place to locate all children with disabilities residing in the State, including children with disabilities attending private schools, regardless of the severity of their disability, and who are in need of special education and related services.
The main hazards will be damaging wind gusts (60+ mph) and large hail, but an isolated tornado cannot be ruled out.
Snow Hill Primary gives out a weekly award called "Terrific Kid" awards. Each teacher at SHP chooses a student who has been responsible, shows great character, or has reached a personal goal.
