At the February 28 meeting of the Greene County Board of Education, Dr. Patrick C. Miller, superintendent of Greene County Schools, announced his retirement effective June 30, 2022. Dr. Miller has served Greene County as superintendent since 2008 and has been an employee of Greene County Schools for 29 years, beginning as the choral director at Greene Central High School in 1993.
Snow Hill Primary gives out a weekly award called "Terrific Kid" awards. Each teacher at SHP chooses a student who has been responsible, shows great character, or has reached a personal goal. Lenoir Community College will hold three Career & College Promise Information Sessions for families and students from Lenoir, Greene and Jones Counties that would like to know more about the dual enrollment opportunities available for high school and rising high school students through LCC.

Based on Governor Cooper’s Feb. 17th announcement and the data of covid cases declining in our state along with the rise in vaccination statuses, the College will move to masks/face coverings optional effective Monday, Feb. 21 on all LCC campuses.

Bobby Taylor of Greene Ridge Racquet Club (GRRC) rejoins the Lenoir Community College Foundation this year as a celebrity dealer at Casino Night. The event will be held on February 25 from 6:30 to 10:00 p.m. at the Lenoir County Shrine Club. Tables open at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $50 per person. Proceeds from the event benefit the LCC scholarship program.
Rise Up Mentorship will start at North Lenoir and Contentnea-Savannah School (CSS). The program is a mentorship that will focus on targeting students' social, emotional, and behavioral needs in order to increase academics throughout the year.

Completely student-driven and executed by students and working undercover, a specially crafted Valentine card is received by each student and staff member.

In a recent email to parents, Arendell Parrott Academy announced plans to make adjustments to COVID-19 policies effective Monday, February 14, 2022. Those plans include mask-optional for students, staff, visitors, and sporting events, and continuing to require masks on buses and vans in compliance with federal law.

The love of baseball brought Zack Kramer of Florida to Lenoir Community College where he plays outfield for the LCC Lancers. He’s played baseball his whole life and he wanted to continue his career at the collegiate level. His older brother played for a junior college (JUCO) in Virginia and had a great experience there, so LCC seemed to be the right fit.
