The faith believed, taught, and lived by Rev. Billy Gray Sullivan, Sr., 91, led him to his home eternal on Monday, August 10, 2026. Billy was born in Johnston County to the late Larry “Fet” and Melissa Alice Watkins Sullivan on July 14, 1935.
Mr. Edward Earl “Eddie” Horton, Jr., age 79, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, August 5, 2026, at his home in Kinston, surrounded by his loving wife and only child. His passing followed a brief, courageous battle with metastatic melanoma cancer.

Margie Croom Coley, 72, passed away on Saturday, March 28, at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, North Carolina, after a long and fierce battle with cancer. Cynthia K. “Cindy” Whitney, 66, of Dover, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
A memorial service to celebrate Cindy’s life will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Dover Methodist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior, at 10:00 a.m., in the church fellowship hall.
