Obituary: Myra Gail Lee Quinn

Goldsboro-Myra Gail Lee Quinn, 66, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. Born in Lenoir County on November 30, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Robert David Lee and Elizabeth Smith Edmundson.

In addition to her parents, Gail was preceded in death by her sister, Rhonda Darlene Lee; brothers, Robert Clifton Lee and Gilbert Edward Lee; maternal grandparents, Odie Edward Smith and Mary Evelyn Radford; and paternal grandparents, Johnny Gilbert Lee and Nellie Harriet Marlow.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Rhonda Gail Shirley, Cyndi Byrnes, and Eddie Byrnes; siblings, Betty Sue Daughtry of Sanford, Lisa Harriet Grant of Goldsboro, Karen Elizabeth Acevedo of Auburn, NY, and Johnny Ray Lee of Butner; four grandchildren; as well as one uncle, one aunt, and numerous beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Gail was a devout Christian. She enjoyed reading her Bible and attending church. Gail loved working crossword puzzles in her free time and was a big Tweety Bird fan. Above all else, Gail loved her family, she always welcomed time spent with her loved ones.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Rouse Funeral Home with Rev. William Pickett officiating. Interment will follow at the Cobb Cemetery in the Jason Community. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 6, 2026 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home. Feel free to wear something purple or Tweety Bird related to honor Gail.
