Arrest made following assault on N. Queen Street

On August 2, 2025, at approximately 2:15 p.m., officers with the Kinston Police Department’s A-Squad responded to a residence in the 500 block of North Queen Street in reference to a reported physical altercation.

Upon arrival, officers determined that Courtnay Jones (18) unlawfully entered the residence and struck an adult female victim in the face. During the incident, a 17-year-old juvenile accompanying Jones also assaulted an 8-year-old child who was present.

As a result of the investigation, Courtnay Jones was arrested and charged with the following offenses:

-Breaking and Entering to Terrorize

-Assault on a Pregnant Woman

Jones was transported to the Lenoir County Jail, where she was held under a secured bond.

The 17-year-old juvenile was released to a parent. Kinston Police Department will be working with Juvenile Justice to pursue appropriate juvenile petitions.
